J.S. Bach is, by far, my favorite composer! He is truly primus inter pares / first among equals. Bach believed that the chief end of man is to glorify God. He tried to glorify God through his music! Bach signed his musical manuscripts SDG (Soli Deo Gloria - To God Alone the Glory) and JJ (Jesu Juva - Jesus Help). GLORY TO GOD! Western music reached an apotheosis with Bach.
